The body temperature is regulated
by the brain to maintain a constant balance heat gain and heat loss. The normal
body temperature is 37° Celsius (98.6°
Fahrenheit). Precise body temperature is taken with a thermometer, but you
can estimate the temperature by placing the back of your hand on the victim’s
forehead and describe it as hot or cold.
Signs of Life
The person is conscious or unconscious
with:

- · Presence of circulation
- · Pupils reacting to light
Signs of Death
The person is unresponsive with:
X Absence of breathing
X Absence of circulation
X Pupils fixed and
dilated, not reacting to light
